San Marco - Ortega - Riverside - 5 Points - Riverside Streetcar Station?

I hear it all the time, "Bob, what do you mean, little like the JTA stop's but with a dash of old Jacksonville classic?" Well they say one picture is worth 1,000 words so this is my final word on the (beats the heck out of Tampa - Memphis - Little Rock - Dallas - New Orleans) JACKSONVILLE STYLE streetcar station. This drawing could have come from our own Ortega collection, but JTA dumped that file back in 1984, (forget HELL!) So I dug up another rendering for your enjoyment. This is Resident Park, San Francisco, 1913. Now place this next to the historic districts and watch the rush into downtown. Hope this clears the air of Small but Classic!

Hey if you have a rendering or idea, send it over, I'll be glad to post it.

TAKE A FREE TOUR OF THE JACKSONVILLE SKYWAY

The arguments rage to this date, "Should have never been built," "waste of taxpayer money," "Doesn't go anywhere," "Nobody rides it..." etc. Bottom line is we have it, and it is finally showing signs of life. Simple extensions to the Stadium, San Marco, and the area of Blue Cross in North Riverside would turn this little train around. Addition of Park and Ride garages and multimodal transit terminals at the end points would bring on the crowds. The video must have been shot on a Sunday Morning, as downtown is certainly as packed with life as any other major City on weekdays. Jacksonville is a city of Bikes, joggers, walkers, buses and cars, one almost wonders how the photographer managed to find this quiet moment.
